Wikipedia:Requests for page protection

Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here. | ||
---|---|---|
Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection) After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.
Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level
Request unprotection of a page, or reducing the protection level

Current requests for increase in protection level
Place requests for new or upgrading of article protection, upload protection, or create protection at the BOTTOM of this section. Check the archive of fulfilled and denied requests or, failing that, the page history if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
Temporary extended confirmed protection: Persistent vandalism – Repeated spamming by SPAs promoting content-farm blogs about SIM registration in the Philippines. Blake Gripling (talk) 00:24, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Lectonar (talk) 10:08, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
Semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Persistent vandalism by multiple IP ranges:
- 2601:46:602:0:0:0:0:0 (since 16 July 2024)
- 2601:46:601:0:0:0:0:0 (since 4 September 2024)
- 2601:40:c300:0:0:0:0:0 (since 6 September 2024). Annh07 (talk) 00:49, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
Reason: Culmulative instances of an identical IP vandalism, with multiple "IP users", including from previously banned accounts and personal messages like this. Respublik (talk) 07:57, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent Disruptive Editing. see Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Loveforwiki 𐩣𐩫𐩧𐩨 Abo Yemen (𓃵) 10:57, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
- Please do not. This article gets quite a lot of good edits from IP editors. The small number of edits from Loveforwiki's socks are easily identified and reverted.-- Toddy1 (talk) 20:49, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Controversial fringe theory attracting new users promoting nonsense. Dronebogus (talk) 11:27, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
Semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing. Dieter Lloyd Wexler 11:30, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
Reason: Vandalism from fresh IPs without sources Yoshitura (talk) 13:05, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
Temporary full protection: Content dispute/edit warring – Slow edit war with one editor coming with a date at5 odds with the given source. The Banner talk 13:11, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
Reason: This page is heavily vandalized by unregistered users or many unconstructive edits occur, Since this is a controversial topic, it is vandalized frequently, that is why the page needs Semi-protection. BangladeshiEditorInSylhet (talk) 14:47, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
Declined – Content dispute. Please use the article's talk page or other forms of dispute resolution. Lectonar (talk) 10:17, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
Reason: High level of IP and registered vandalism, Semi protection or extended confirmed protection, either one of those is needed. BangladeshiEditorInSylhet (talk) 14:50, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Lectonar (talk) 10:17, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
Reason: Unusual amounts of vandalism for a page about an American High School. AsaQuathern (talk) 22:50, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent sockpuppetry. (CC) Tbhotch™ 00:27, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
Semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – IPs violating MOS:ETHNICITY. Nswix (talk) 00:45, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
Temporary pending changes: Persistent vandalism. (CC) Tbhotch™ 01:15, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
Semi-protection: BLP policy violations – Trump-related BLP violations stemming from one Facebook post supposedly by a former KGB agent, which was subsequently picked up by sources with, at best, questionable reputations. Skywatcher68 (talk) 02:22, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
Reason: Disruptive edits and POV-pushing resumed just a week after the previous page protection expired. Also, the notorious LTA SheryOffical seems to have returned with an IP sockpuppet. [1] The Barelvi movement is a highly controversial subject, and SheryOffical has pretty much said that Allah has commanded him to remove what he thinks is misinformation from the article. [2] HyperShark244 (talk) 02:27, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
Move protection: Page-move vandalism. Filmssssssssssss (talk) 03:39, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
- Automated comment: One or more pages in this request appear to already be protected. Please confirm.—cyberbot ITalk to my owner:Online 03:42, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
Semi-protection: Persistent vandalism. Filmssssssssssss (talk) 03:42, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
Reason: Requesting semi-protection on all subpages. Long term IP editor abuse (not following guidelines, many WP:FRINGE and WP:OR additions, many warnings). I've seen other editors float WP:STARTOVER or deleting the pages altogether, but personally I think there is value in the project and would prefer not to throw the baby out with the bathwater. Tule-hog (talk) 04:31, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
- If this is a too broad of a request, I would specify WP:RA/BAE and WP:RA/PAG and their subpages. May not be justified on all of WP:RA, but IP users have a tendency to just find another unprotected subpage. Tule-hog (talk) 04:40, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
- (This was already done for Wikipedia:Requested articles/Biography/By profession motivated by same reasoning as this request: "Persistent disruptive editing: persistent failure to follow entry criteria by unregistered user; has been unpreventable by pending changes setting".) Tule-hog (talk) 05:03, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
Reason: IP vandalism and a new user removed ideologies keeping citations for those ideologies. XYZ 250706 (talk) 04:33, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
Reason: Page under WP:GS/PAGEANTS with high level of IP vandalism or not understanding the edit notice at the top of the page. They are directly contradicting the MOS in edits like [3] and [4].
Blocked proxy editing here. More vandalism here. Sockpuppetry here. ☆ Bri (talk) 05:33, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Long-term disruptions. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 06:54, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Long-term IP disruption since 2023. ABG (Talk/Report any mistakes here) 09:24, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Violations of the biographies of living persons policy. Repeated BLP violations and vandalism. TarnishedPathtalk 09:35, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism. Coordinated or editing through multiple IPs and accounts. Parksfan1955 (talk) 09:50, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Some editors are jumping the gun with regards to the operator being active again following the 2024 announcement of First's purchase of RATP Dev Transit London from the RATP Group: see 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. Not so much vandalism, more good faith but otherwise disruptive unsourced edits that aren't accurate as yet; page protection would help stave off constant reversions until a formal announcement later in the year that the First-RATP deal has been completed. Hullian111 (talk) 10:07, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
Current requests for reduction in protection level
Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.
- To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
- Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
- Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
- If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.
Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
Current requests for edits to a protected page
Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here
Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.
- Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among
{{Edit protected}}
,{{Edit template-protected}}
,{{Edit extended-protected}}
, or{{Edit semi-protected}}
to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed. - Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
{{Edit COI}}
template should be used. - Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
- If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
- This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.
In Patriarchs and Prophets, p. 38 she clearly states that Christ was divine from eternity.
"There had been no change in the position or authority of Christ. Lucifer's envy and misrepresentation and his claims to equality with Christ had made necessary a statement of the true position of the Son of God; but this had been the same from the beginning. Many of the angels were, however, blinded by Lucifer's deceptions." 47.176.191.146 (talk) 06:33, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
I would like to request that "Aconsensus" be corrected to "A consensus." Kenfree (talk) 08:24, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
